JACKIE TERMINATED TODAY!

I'm sure you all have heard the news by now...Jackie was terminated shortly after arriving for her shift today....because she refused to sign medical documents that they should have had her sign 2 years ago...after a workplace illness/injury.  They violated not only the OSH Act but the Tennessee Workman's Comp Act as well by not recording this incident (losing consciousness at the workplace), and were desperately trying to get her signature to cover up this violation.  Truth be known, I'm certain MOST of the workplace injuries and illnesses are NOT recorded or reported as required.

Initially, she was very upset, because there is more work to be done, but after considering the next step, she understands this might have been for the best.  If anyone is interested in what happens now, just visit OSHA Whistleblowers Protection Act.  The ball has already started rolling.

We're not going anywhere.  We're right here.  I will continue adding pertinent information to this blog every evening as long as I see the "Pageviews" increasing substantially every day.  After only 1 week, we've had 3,600 page views!  That is amazing in itself!  It shows that there is quite a bit of interest in this topic of workplace safety!

Thanks to you all for all the supporting comments.  Keep yourselves safe!

  4. Jackie, you have truly been amazing. Just seeing you scream your lungs out at connie and holly was like watching the hero beat the crap out of the antagonist in a feature film! You made me feel triumphant and warm inside. I can tell you are honestly just trying to stand up for what you believe in. I think a lot of you just for that. (and for the record EVERYONE heard you snap but most of is refused to sign the paper starting that we heard you telling them off) I know you and your mother are intelligent enough to move forward with your whistle blower act!

  11. Kudos to everyone standing up for yourselves. I do not work at Teamstaff but I have read this entire blog and am very impressed with what you are doing. Everything you have requested is reasonable and fair. You should have been informed of the hazards and risks on your first day of employment. If management has even the slightest bit of integrity, they will do what it takes to make this right.

  12. Haters will hate. People are allowed to stand up for what they believe in. Immature people make me laugh! Oh...and this is Melissa Jean. When you call somebody out you use your name not anonymous!

  13. So who is going to sign the HHE with me? Its the least we could do for ourselves after Jackie and her. Mom went through so much to get the ball rolling. Am I the only one who feels we deserve reassuring? Come on, only two more brave hearts needed.

  14. Wish I still worked there. I would sign it. It's time for all the employees to know if they are truly safe or not.

Kudos to everyone that is standing up for themselves and be proud you have a real live Erin Brockovich fighting for & with you!!
I would like to know if there are any long term effects from exposure to these drugs?

Shame on CMOP & Teamstaff BS!!

  17. Thanks, Anonymous above. We appreciate the nice comment of support. As far as long term effects from exposure....it would be hard to tell. It would all depend on which drugs your daughter handled, for how long, and how strong and resilient her body is. When Jackie fainted on the line and was rushed to ER, thankfully her acute "outward" symptoms improved quite rapidly. I wanted her to quit then, but she met me half way and went part-time. She's MUCH better since then.

But what's going on inside your body is hard to really know. I've spoken to people who quit MONTHS ago and still have respiratory issues, sinus problems, and other complications that started at CMOP. Luckily, this CMOP hasn't been open for 30 years (like Hinkley, Texas in the Erin Brockovich movie). Those poor people drank it, bathed in it, swam in it, cooked with it...24/7 exposure.....and they were slowly killing themselves with the Hexavalent Chromium. They had no idea. Employees at Teamstaff have no idea either....but I hope it's not as bad. The drugs to watch out for are definitely the HAZARDOUS DRUGS listed in the NIOSH list. The ANTINEOPLASTIC AGENTS can build up in the system and stick around forever....causing birth defects, chromosome abnormalities that are actually passed down to your children. That's scary stuff!

By the way...what lead you here to our blog? How did you find us?
